What Are The Differences Between The Two Welding Processes For New Energy Copper Busbars?

At present, the application of new energy soft copper busbars is becoming increasingly widespread and has been vigorously promoted in the market. The copper busbar welding technology is also constantly improving, and the common welding processes now are argon arc welding and polymer diffusion welding. The difference between these two processes is now shared by YIPU Metal, a copper busbar manufacturer.

Firstly, it is argon arc welding, which belongs to a type of arc welding and is also known as argon shielded welding. By applying argon gas as a maintenance gas around the arc welding area, the air is blocked outside the welding area to avoid oxidation. However, this type of welding has the disadvantage of easily leaving welding scars, especially after high-temperature treatment, which can easily cause welding detachment and affect the functionality of the product.

Polymer diffusion welding is the process of continuously heating to a certain temperature, allowing metals of the same or different materials to be directly connected together. During the welding process, the heating power and time can be controlled, and the heating curve and temperature can be effectively controlled. The voltage of polymer diffusion welding is lower, which greatly reduces the insulation and sparking caused by high voltage.

For soft copper busbars, regardless of the welding process, the main requirement is to enable copper bars with different strengths to withstand various forms of compression, collision, and bending on the installation contact surface. Make the welded copper busbar an excellent electrical conductor.

YIPU Metal is a professional manufacturer of new energy copper busbars, with application scenarios including but not limited to energy storage, new energy vehicles, battery packs, and other fields. The product types include customized extruded copper busbars, impregnated copper busbars, heat shrink sleeve copper bars, laminated soft copper bars, and so on.
