Three Connection Methods For Power battery Connection Copper Busbars

The power battery pack is a place for storing and releasing electrical energy, mainly composed of multiple power battery modules connected in series, and each module is composed of multiple individual power batteries connected in parallel to form a module. The connections between individual power batteries include square, cylindrical, flexible, and so on. The main connection scheme between battery modules is the busbar or high-voltage battery connection harness.

The power battery module connects individual cells in series through conductive connectors to form a power supply, playing a role in connection, fixation, and safety protection. The conductive connectors between battery modules are mainly hard copper bars, soft copper bars, and cables, responsible for the connection between the power battery and external components. Regardless of the connection method, it must comply with relevant standard requirements, have rigorous manufacturing processes, and ensure quality control is in place.

According to the differences in connection occasions, the electrical connection of power batteries mainly includes three technical routes: welding, screw connection, and mechanical crimping.



The three connection methods are introduced as follows:

1. Welding: It is widely used in practical production, mainly including laser welding, ultrasonic welding, and resistance welding, with high efficiency and high degree of automation in production.

2. Screw connection: Battery systems with larger individual capacity are widely used for securing the connection between the battery cell and the busbar with anti loosening screws.

3. Mechanical crimping: It mainly relies on the elastic deformation of the busbar to maintain the connection between the battery and the circuit, occupying more space than the first two connection methods. The advantage is that the disassembly and assembly are more flexible, and the possibility of a complete battery cell is higher.
