How To Solder Nickel Sheets Onto Copper Busar Connectors?

Copper busbar connectors with surface welded nickel sheets can achieve better conductivity and mechanical properties by combining nickel sheets with copper bars.

This process mainly includes the following steps:

1. Material preparation: Copper sheets are usually manufactured through two processes: rolling and extrusion to improve their flatness and strength. Nickel sheets are usually welded using high-strength brazing materials (such as WEWELDING 46) or low-temperature easy to operate welding wires (such as WEWELDING M51) to ensure welding quality and performance.

2. Welding technology: There are various types of welding techniques for nickel plated copper bars, such as laser welding, spot welding, brazing, etc. Among them, laser welding is an efficient and high-precision welding method, which has advantages such as non-contact welding, no mechanical stress damage, minimal thermal effects, and the ability to withstand high temperatures and currents, thus achieving high-quality welding. Spot welding is also a commonly used welding technique, suitable for welding nickel sheets in batteries. Welding is achieved by passing current through the contact point instantly, which has high welding efficiency and low cost.

3. Quality inspection: Copper busbar connectors with surface welded nickel sheets and their accessories need to undergo quality inspection, including checking the surface quality to ensure that the material has fewer surface defects and uniform color. At the same time, mechanical performance testing is also required to ensure that the welded copper busbars have sufficient strength and toughness to meet the usage requirements.
